Best Public Schools in Cincinnati

Cincinnati offers its residents some fantastic public school options. From big district resources and options to small-town charm and personalization, the Cinncinati area offers the right educational fit for every family among its public school options.

Little Miami Schools 

Little Miami Schools encompasses 98 square miles over five buildings. Several small villages, such as Morrow, Butlerville, and Mainsville, feed their school five buildings. Little Miami just opened a shiny new early childhood center to serve students from preschool to first grade.

Indian Hill Exempted Village School District

Indian Hill Exempted Village School District hosts one primary, elementary, middle, and high school. This district offers a small-town feel with excellent academics, athletics, fine arts, and other extracurriculars.

Campbell County Schools

Campbell County Schools is located in Northern Kentucky. It includes five elementary schools, one middle school, and one high school. Campbell County High School ranks among the top 2000 high schools in the nation and consistently dominates national ACT rankings.

Madeira City Schools

Madeira City Schools includes one building each for preschool, elementary, middle, and high school. This community has deep roots and a long history. Madeira is home to a thriving PTO and offers a wide range of competitive athletics.

Cincinnati Public Schools

Cincinnati Public Schools is the largest district in the area. It leverages its size and resources to offer stellar programs and opportunities for preschool through high school students of all ages. Cincinnati PS has been offering magnet schools for more than 50 years and has perfected the art. Current magnet schools include STEM, foreign language, Montessori, and the arts. Our other Cinncinati PS favorites include Hyde Park, a K-6 school, and  Walnut Hills High School in Mt Lookout.

Sycamore Schools

Sycamore Schools in Montgomery, OH, offers character-building education and excellent academics. This district includes four elementary schools and one middle and high school. Their choir and theater programs stand out as especially excellent.   

Loveland City Schools

Loveland City Schools covers 15 square miles but spans three counties. It keeps its 4,400 students in close cohorts, with just a few grade levels in each of six buildings. Loveland Tigers are well-rounded and engaged learners. 

Beechwood Independent Schools 

Beechwood Independent Schools is located in Nothern, Kentucky, offering small-town charm and serious rigor. Beechwood Elementary serves less than 700 K-6 students, and Beechwood High School serves approximately 730 7-12th grade students. There is no Beechwood Middle School. 

Forrest Hills School District

Serving families in Anderson, Ohio, Forrest Hills Schools touts a whopping 95% graduation rate, which speaks to its excellent academic record. This sizeable suburban district includes two high schools, two middle schools, and five elementary/primary schools. 

Fort Thomas Independent Schools 

Not every stellar school district in greater Cincinnati is located in Ohio. Fort Thomas Independent Schools in Northern Kentucky awards a high school degree to over 98% of its students. Three elementary buildings converge into Highlands Middle School and Highlands High school.

Private Schools in Cincinnati

Cincinnati is home to some fantastic private schools. While most private schools offer religious education, this isn’t always the case. Private schools in Cinncinati tend to be slightly more academically rigorous and offer smaller class sizes. 

All Saints

All Saints Catholic Schools in Cinncinati is a small K-8 building that supports slightly under 500 students. This gorgeous campus emphasizes character education, faith formation, and excellent academics.

Archbishop Moeller High

Arch Bishop Moeller High is a catholic boys' high school that nurtures tomorrow’s remarkable men.

Cincinnati Country Day

Cincinnati Country Day is a world-class and well-known private college preparatory school that serves preschool to 12th-grade students.

The Summit Country Day

For more than 130 years, Summit Country Day has been nurturing Cinncinati children into college-ready young adults. Starting with Montessori preschool programs and ending in stellar high school academic programs and extra-curricular, Summit Country Day is a Cinncinati institution.

The Seven Hills School

From early childhood to 12th grade, Seven Hills allows self-directed academic exploration while providing a challenging curriculum and amazing athletic and arts programs. Seven Hills sends 100% of its graduates to college and advertises that its current staff averages 18 years of teaching experience.

Skyward Academy

Skyward Academy is a unique and fantastic school that enrolls students with disabilities with elementary, middle, and high school programs both in-person, online, and through a-la-carte support like visits for homeschooled students in their home or in a pre-set location.
